On Saturday, June 23, Dunkin the GreenHawks' mascot came to the Bethesda Big Train game to help celebrate Homer's birthday! The event was so much fun for all in attendance (including CAL RIPKEN JR)! Some of the mascots, including Dunkin, Blaze from Buffalo Wild Wings, and Topspin from the Washington Kastles took on Homer in an intense tug-of-war match after the 2nd inning, which brought endless laughter to the crowd. This summer, the Washington GreenHawks and the Green Hoops for Hope Foundation are pleased to announce that they will be conducting a shoe drive with Soles4Souls, a Nashville-based company that collects millions of pairs of shoes and donates them to people in need in more than 127 countries throughout the world. Soles4Souls has appeared in thousands of news outlets and has delivered 17 million shoes since 2005.
On Saturday, June 9, Dunkin the GreenHawks mascot went to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland to visit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event. As Dunkin took pictures with kids in attendance, a tremendous amount of money was raised for an unbelievable cause. From a dunk tank to flash mob dance party, many laughs were shared and all felt rewarded to take part in such a special event.
